I also wanted to share my outfit choice for the day. If you remember from this post, I had planned on making a dress to wear to the wedding but circumstances prevented that from happening so I had to do a last minute adjustment in plans. I chose this dress with an asymmetrical waist and hemline cut on a bias with a 1930-40s feel.
Pay no attention to the fuzzy Christmas socks =) |
It was very chilly that day so I added a beaded velvet shawl and opted for minimal accessories with a Fall inspired brooch and a feathered headband. Oh, did I mention that I participated in the ceremony by reading a poem?

After the wedding and reception were over we stopped by my daughters house to visit for a few minutes and enjoy a warm cup of coffee. By the time we left, the rain had completely stopped and on our drive home we were driving into an amazing sunset. It was a perfect ending to a beautiful day.
Very pretty. Love the purple.
ReplyDeletePurple is one of my favorite colors and I think the Bride did an awesome job incorporating that into the decor.
DeleteWhat a tremendously beautiful wedding! I adore the purple colour palette - it somehow seems like the perfect counterpoint to autumn's more earthy hues and is such an upbeat choice for something as joyous as a wedding.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit was gorgeous, too, and I completely agree about the 30s vibe of that elegant dress.

Thanks Jessica. I was a little unsure about that dress but my husband insisted I get it. I had tried four different dresses on and standing in the fitting room looking at myself in the mirror I had decided that I liked another one better, I thought it was more flattering to my figure, but he claimed this one was. I couldn't really decide, and since there was a tremendous sale going on, buy one get one for $1, we bought all four of those dresses. Later, at home, we took pictures of me in all four of them to send to my daughter so that she could help me decide. When I looked at the pictures I had to agree with my husband that this dress was the most flattering. I found that interesting that the reflection I saw in the mirror was totally different from what I saw on film.
DeleteI followed you back dear!
